Class: Painting with Gouache

  • Visual Arts Center of Richmond 1812 West Main Street Richmond, VA, 23220 United States (map)

Thursdays 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts)

Learn the basics of working with gouache—a medium that, like oil, allows for the application of rich, opaque layers of color but behaves and dries like watercolor. Students will explore techniques for controlling the color and flexibility of this medium and can expect to walk away with multiple finished paintings.

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) has helped adults and children explore their creativity and make art since 1963. Each year, the organization touches the lives of more than 33,000 people through its classes, exhibitions, community outreach programs, camps, workshops and special events. Each year, VisArts offers more than 800 visual and creative arts classes in clay, wood, fiber, painting, photography, printmaking, glass, metal, drawing, writing, decorative arts and other visual media.
